WORLD OZONE DAY
THEME: "MONTREAL PROTOCOL ADVANCING CLIMATE ACTION"

PM SHRI Govt. Sr. Sec. School Samdong celebrated World Ozone Day on 16th September 2024 with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and climate action. The event aligned with the global theme “Montreal Protocol Advancing Climate Action,” reflecting the role of the Montreal Protocol in protecting the ozone layer while also addressing climate change.
Activities Conducted:
1. Poster Making and Essay Writing Competitions:
Students from various grades actively participated in a poster-making competition, showcasing creative ideas and messages related to ozone protection and climate action. Alongside this, an essay writing competition allowed students to express their views on the significance of the Montreal Protocol and the harmful effects of UV rays on the environment and human health.
2. Awareness Program on UV Rays:
A special awareness session was organized to educate students about the harmful effects of UV radiation. Teachers discussed the dangers of prolonged exposure to UV rays, their link to skin cancer, and the depletion of the ozone layer. This session highlighted the importance of safeguarding the ozone layer for the health and safety of all living beings.
